THE ONE-ARMED SWORDSMAN Double Feature Playing through February @ New Beverly
The New Beverly, LA will be showcasing THE ONE-ARMED SWORDSMAN double feature playing EVERY Tuesday in the month of February Feb. 7-28, 2016.
These are two classic wuxia films starring one of Hong Kong’s first big wuxia stars Jimmy Wang Yu. They also are some of Chang Cheh’s first directorial films that would revolutionize the genre and lay the groundwork for his almost 100 and establish Shaw Brothers as the premiere studio in Hong Kong.
THE ONE-ARMED SWORDSMAN (1967)

Considered a wuxia classic, it is one of the first big Shaw Brothers hits that popularized the male anti-hero and intense bloodshed that would be the signature of one of Hong Kong’s greatest directors. It is also considered the film that launched Jimmy Wang Yu into stardom.
