Black Magic & The Boxer’s Omen Double Feature @ New Beverly LA Sept 15

New Beverly’s month long tribute to Shaw Brothers continues with a classic horror double feature!

BLACK MAGIC (1975)

Starring Ti Lung, Lo Lieh, Ni Tien and Lily Li / Directed by Ho Meng-hua

People come to a mysterious shaman to help them with their love problems.  The stakes rise when the shaman realizes he wants a client’s bride for himself.  Not a kung fu movie, but it is a Shaw with several familiar kung fu stars.

THE BOXER’S OMEN (1983)

Starring Phillip Ko Fei, Elvis Tsui Kam-Kong, Wai Ka-Man, Johnny Wang Lung-Wei and Bolo Yeung Sze / Directed by Kuei Chih-hung

A martial artist’s brother gets maimed in a Thai boxing fight, and heads to Thailand to avenge him.  However, Insanity ensues as he discovers an elaborate cult dedicated to evil.  One of the strangest horror movies I have ever seen, definitely a unique experience.    Also, Bolo Yeung has a small roll in it!
